KV Capital is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team in the dual role of Business Relationship Manager & Mortgage Underwriter. In this capacity, you will support the growth and development of KV Capital’s Residential Mortgage division. Your responsibilities will encompass managing relationships with residential mortgage clients, delivering unparalleled mortgage advisory services, and leading the underwriting process. You will bring the desire and aptitude to help KV Capital develop the processes and systems required to make the residential mortgage application and lending process simple for our valued clients.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leverage KV’s network and capabilities in the lending space to collaborate with the KV team to grow the pipeline of residential mortgage opportunities, including cultivating and strengthening relationships with builders and industry partners;
• Deliver timely residential mortgage solutions to clients, guiding them seamlessly through the mortgage application process, from pre-qualification through to closing;
• Lead the underwriting and credit decision process; including, but not limited to: 1) evaluating and analyzing residential mortgage applications; 2) verifying completeness and accuracy of information received; and 3) executing efficient and comprehensive due diligence procedures;
• Negotiate favorable terms with lenders on behalf of clients, securing competitive rates and optimal mortgage packages;
• Deliver the highest level of customer service to all parties associated with each mortgage transaction;
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry regulations, market trends, and underwriting standards; and
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant industry legislations and mortgage agent / brokerage licensing.

YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS ‍

To be successful in this role you must have:

• Completion of a post-secondary degree or equivalent;
• Must hold a current mortgage broker license;
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the mortgage industry (residential mortgage underwriting experience is strongly preferred);
• Strong working knowledge of residential mortgage underwriting, risk management, and of real estate market/industry trends;
• Ability to find creative mortgage solutions in a competitive market landscape;
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills in the context of mortgage financing;
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications is required;
• Ability to clearly communicate, maintain successful relationships, negotiate and navigate difficult situations with respect and understanding;
• Demonstrated ability to excel in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment; and
• Results driven mindset with a focus on exceptional customer service, strong team collaboration and sound credit decisioning
