Director, Operations and Strategy, Residential Mortgages

We are looking for an exceptional, highly driven candidate to lead KV Capital’s Residential Mortgages business unit.


The successful candidate will have a consumer centric and entrepreneurial mindset, have a passion for innovation, and be highly driven by their desire to build a business unit that is “best in class”. To succeed you must define and communicate a clear vision with collaboration from KV Capital’s Partners and have the ability to implement and deliver on a strategic plan that that supports the vision.


-Define a clear vision for the residential mortgages business unit and create and deliver on a strategic plan that supports the vision.

-Analyze current operational processes and performance, identifying areas of opportunity that will facilitate our employee experience and ultimately improvement and elevate our customer experience.

-Lead the residential mortgages business unit through technological change and enhancement with the following objectives:

-Allow customers a completely self-serve (automated) option to secure their mortgage approvals; and

-Improve the efficiency of operations and facilitate growth.

-Lead a team to perform the day-to-day operations for a residential mortgage brokerage with the goal to provide fast, efficient, and effective customer service that ALWAYS exceeds our customer’s expectations.

-Planning, monitoring, and analyzing of key metrics for performance of operations to ensure the reaching of our business unit goals.

Our team at KV Capital launched its residential mortgages business unit in early 2021. Today, we offer mortgages as unique as our clients are and understand that no two homeowners are alike. By accessing our diverse network of lenders, we secure the market’s most competitive rates for our clients, all while keeping the process as simple and straightforward as possible.


The successful candidate is expected to have:

-Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Preference will begiven to candidates with a financial designation (i.e. CPA, CBV, CFA, etc.),MBA, or similar program;

-Experience in a leadership position and managing teams;

-Proven track record of initiating and implementing changes and improvements;

-Strong entrepreneurial spirit with can-do mentality – You see potentials and bring them to your agenda;

-Strong analytical foundation with a penchant for process and operations;

-Experience and willingness to be hands on (i.e., creating processes, talking to stakeholders, executing in addition to delegating);

-Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic, face-paced organization;

-Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments;

-Strong customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members and internal and external stakeholders.  

-Excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills;

-Currently hold a Mortgage License or are willing to secure a license through RECA within six months from start date; and

-Ability to actively promote a culture of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

-Multidisciplinary experience in innovation, strategy, and/or technology. The following previous work experiences are an asset, but not required:

-Experience within the Financial Services sector or Mortgage industry;

-Experience leading a high growth business division; and/or

-Experience leading technological innovation.
