Festival of Trees

Since 1985, the University Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees has brought families and friends together to celebrate the season, create lasting memories and support critically important causes at the University of Alberta Hospital site. The University Hospital Foundation currently supports cardiac and brain care, emergency trauma and surgery, gastroenterology, kidney care, prostate and urology care, transplantation, and research and innovation. To date, the Festival of Trees has raised over $23 million for the University of Alberta Hospital , which has enabled incredible advancements like bringing incision-free surgery technology to Edmonton and expanding intensive care for cardiac patients.

KV Capital is a proud sponsor of the University Hospital Foundation’s 2022 Festival of Trees. Reimagined and more accessible than ever, this year’s Festival of Trees is bringing Edmontonians a variety of events and experiences to enjoy from now through December. Funds raised through the 2022 Festival of Trees will go towards supporting neurological rehabilitation and the creation of a new Neuro Rehabilitation Innovation Centre at the University of Alberta Hospital. The addition of a state-of-the-art Centre will give patients with potentially debilitating neurologic conditions timely access to the treatments needed to improve their chance at a full recovery. We are proud to be a part of supporting this critical cause and hope you will join us in enjoying the Festival of Trees’ must-attend events: from the Gala & Auction to the Silver Bell Soirée, Santa’s Breakfast, Winter Wonderland Holiday Market and more.

Let it shine

Neurological illness and injuries are a leading cause of disability in Alberta and around the world. In cases of debilitating brain and spinal cord injuries, early access to advanced rehabilitation is critical to recovery. Currently, patients can have up to a 25 day wait to be transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation facility. The new Centre will make the University of Alberta Hospital one of few acute care settings in North America to offer advanced rehabilitation to its brain and spinal cord patients. It will open doors to research opportunities that will have impact here in Alberta, and around the world.

This year, UHF’s Festival of Trees’ theme is “Let it Shine”, in honor of embracing the vibrant spirit of Edmonton’s tight-knit community. With the support of the community, there are no limits on the tremendous impact that the UHF can have on healthcare challenges.
