Michael’s emphasis on underwriting across multi-family, retail, and industrial sectors ensure the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience he brings to managing our commercial real estate finance division in Calgary.
Michael’s past accomplishments include Managing Director (Calgary Real Estate Group) for ATB Financial. He saw his team manage a lending portfolio in excess of $4.5 billion that generated more than $80 million in annual revenue. He is also one of the youngest individuals to be promoted to Managing Director within Corporate Financial Services, a testament to his dedication, enthusiasm, and expertise. Today, he leads our commercial real estate finance team in Calgary, arranging creative lending opportunities while safeguarding lender and investor relationships, managing an expanding debt book, and turning the division’s team into a high-performing local origination group.
Michael also turns professional expertise into community investment. He is a board member of the HomeSpace Society, a charity that builds, maintains, and manages affordable housing for low-income and vulnerable residents. He has also raised more than $200,000 for the Calgary Food Bank, which translates to nearly $700,000 in food served to community members in need.
