As Director of Origination, Mario collaborates with KV Capital’s Real Estate Debt team to identify and structure new commercial lending opportunities. Mario began his career at a boutique real estate appraisal firm in Ontario, valuing properties and preparing appraisal reports. After the firm was acquired, he joined MCAP’s Development Finance Group in Toronto, where over seven years they underwrote and funded more than $2.0 billion in development and construction loans, with no defaults during their tenure. He then worked with a company partnering with developers on Ontario projects, managing a $280 million equity portfolio, and gained additional experience as a commercial mortgage broker and with a small Toronto developer before joining KV Capital. With experience on both the lending and development sides, Mario brings a unique perspective, understanding client challenges to structure deals that create value.
Outside of work, Mario enjoys skating, playing hockey, ice fishing, snowmobiling, going to concerts, travelling, camping, spending time with friends and family and trying new foods and restaurants.
